I just purchased a Monroe Tufline TB266 boxblade for my JD4410. It is 5.5 feet wide. I have no prior experience with using a boxblade and have just started using this one. Considering, I did pretty good first time out. I searched a bit but didn't find enough information to answer my questions.

Questions

I was wondering about the rear swinging gate. What is the purpose of a swinging rear gate over being fixed. I assumed it will drag and help level the ground. It appears to have cutting edge attached like the front cutting edge.

Mine has no way to lock the rear gate it in place or up which I could find a way if I knew there are appliations for such?

I assume one only uses a boxblade while moving forward?

I don't have TNT and also wondering about adjusting the center link and it's effect? I assume it would tune how agressive the cutting edge is?

The hinged back blade is for cutting/pushing/leveling going backward. I often go backward when smoothing/leveling. I actually get a more level result that way. Going forward the box will rise and fall as the tires go over humps and dips. Going backward, you are leveling the ground before the tires go over it giving a smoother ride and less rise/fall of the box.
