Boy did I Just do a Stupid Thing!

My tractor fits in the garage so that is not a problem. But I drove in the garage with bicycles on the roof of my car. It made big bang as the bike carrier was ripped from the roof and landed on the driveway.

I was plowing with a middle buster, and I parked the tractor on the lawn, and lowered the implement, like I always do when I get down from the tractor. I got back on, and drove towards my house, and plowed a nice row right up the center of my lower yard in front of my house. I had to act quick, to try to cover it up before my wife saw it, but that didn't work so well. Lucky it was early spring. I don't put my ROPS down, because I know the one time I will need them, regardless of what level ground I am on, or what I am doing, I will find a way to roll, just because they were down. I pull a lot of logs out of the woods, and bring the tractor when I am cutting, and I just limb al of the trees on my access road/trail where the ROPS would hit. When I was 15, my best friends sister who was 10, drove their family minivan right through the center of two garage doors, and out the back of the garage, and into the pool. Her parents were a bit upset. I was over the house, and it felt like a plane had crashed into the house.. :confused2:

I rented a large trencher/ backhoe, to install a new water line, from well, to house. I was driving up drive way and had not seen that the boom, had swung to the same side as the wifes car, was parked, I wondered why it was following me:confused2:

I couldn't figure out why the front wheels were going up in the air!? Oh then it struck me, about the same time it struck the top of the garage! I sat there for about 5 seconds with the wheels up then backed up, only a bit of the moulding broke, a little glue and paint fixed it. But the house did shake. Have hit it a few times but only have gotten the wheels off the ground once and that was more than enough

Not raising the ballast box, especially on the grass, is the one that gets me every so often. In fact, I just did it about three times over the weekend and left a few nicely gouged areas in the lawn.

I have lots of skid marks across the garage floor from that. What I try to do is when I park it for the night I lower the ballast box and shut the tractor off, then I raise the lever up a little bit so as soon as the tractor starts again, the box raises.

That's a great idea!
