You guys are pretty harsh. This was a big stupid but if you were ever boys you must have done some stupid things. Maybe you even did some illegal things. I'm sure the law is going to take care of those boys but 9 and 12 is a little young for the death penalty.

Sorry I came a cross sounding different than what I meant in my post. I see your point in the what if but what about the cost of the company and their machinery, Running a landfill I check every day before every one leaves for Master switches and keys to be stowed to avoid this. But theres still tons of things they could get into as you cant barricade a whole site.

No problem :thumbsup: I agree with what your writting. As someone else said we live in a society of point fingers, don't take responsibilty if blame can be placed elsewhere. My whole point was the fact that insurance companies the media etc... would have had a field day with this if one of the kids died. Plus the loss of a child would be horrible.

If two boys destroyed your entire net worth because they were bored, how would you feel? It takes a long time to make a $200K profit.

Bad behavior escalates until the punishment is severe enough to discourage the bad behavior.

If it were possible to put a price on normal childhood mischief, I would think
the amount would be about two thousand for the first 18 yrs.

SixHoeBob, so you think these kids should get death also I relize about the money, but still have to say a life is worth more especially a 9 or 12 yr olds. I believe the parents should pay and the kids should be educated on wrongs done to others. I DO NOT feel the kids should be dead nor put to death. I still stand behind what I have been posting, things could have been much worse.

thats fine I am not saying kill the little bastards. You hold their hand and tell thems its o'tay. I am just saying that in my experience anyone that has that little respect or sence of right and wrong even at 12 will never amount to a hill of beans. trash is trash. they probably could never repay the damages done in a lifetime of stealing copper wire and water pipes from the shacks that they get evicted from. Maybe "uncle Barry" will let us working people subsidize them and buy them their own toys to play with. Or we will lucky and the next thing they steal will do them in.

What kind of a company puts bulldozers and graders out in unsecured locations without insurance? That doesn't seem very competent to me.
I feel for the kids parents, but the kids are their responsibility. I am sure they weren't little darlin's before that.
If I had to pay that kind of money because of the kid's destructive habits I would be uuuugly. Unless the parents are loaded, they will settle for a few thousand if anything at all.
Maybe they will put insurance on it next time.

Kids do stupid things. They should in no way be put to death for this. That is just absurd. But they should be unable to sit for a few days from the whipping they got from their father. Of course the way things are today that is if the dad is even around.

I have had a few conversations about disciplining children with a few other parents I know. These conversations usually start from other parents complimenting the wife and I on how well behaved and well mannered our 7 and 9 yr. old girls are. All the parents who say their kids are out of control and do not listen are the same parents who do not spank their kids. It never hurt me or my wife and it taught us MANY lessons...
I am not talking about hitting or abusing our kids in any way. We tapped then on the rear when they were young and it embarrassed them andhurt their feelings more than anything.

If I would have done this stunt as a kid I would have had red marks on my rear for a week !!!! Maybe that is exactly what these kids need.
