I just bought a 1999 L3710 Kubota tractor with a Curtis cab and heater on it. Will this cab be in the way of mounting the Bradco 509 hoe?? I've been reading posts on the list that say the hoe seat comes right up to the back of the tractor's driver seat. Can the seat be moved farther out without mounting the hoe farther away from the tractor?

Thanks,

Jim

Whatever you find, I'd love to know the answer. I'd suggest calling Bradco directly. I also heard that they offer an extension kit that makes the hoe hang further off the back fo the tractor and that might provide the necessary clearance.

Does the rear window/panel of the cab come off? Maybe it could be removed when the hoe is on?

I have a Bradco 611 backhoe mounted on my Kubota 3710. Yes, bradco does have an extension kit but I don't know how far back it would place the hoe. The seat of my backhoe touches the tractor seat and the seat sits well beneath the rollbar. My guess is it would require a long extension to clear a tractor cab. I would guess it might require 8-12" extensions. Too long of extensions may create excessive stress on the mounting plates/tractor. Call the Bradco people and ask. I have called them before and they are very helpful. They will even fax you parts lists if needed.

A 611 on a 3710? Wow. I was told by Bradco that a 4610 could take a 511 or a 609, but not a 611. Your's works OK?

Yes it works fine. I really wouldn't want a less powerful hoe or reach. Bradco didn't recommend the 611 for my tractor but were more than willing to sell me the tractor mounting brackets. The 511 has the same reach as the 611 but less hydraulic power. The 609 has the same hydraulic power but less reach. I just use the best of both! My only complaint is I use the tractor hydraulics which put out about 8 gal/minute. The bigger bradco backhoes recommend 10-12 gal/minute. Just runs a little slower than ideal but acceptable. If I planned on using it a lot, I would probably get a 12 gal/minute PTO pump. (pto pump requires removal of lift arms for the placement of the oil reservior) I don't use it a lot but very useful. Last weekend I dug trenches for underground drain tile coming off the downspouts of my pole barn shed. The runoff now goes under the adjacent road rather than flowing over. Next project is to use the hoe to construct 3 retaining walls. The guy I bought the hoe from was a landscaper and used it to dig retaining wall trenches and had it mounted on his skidloader. He now uses a medium sized track hoe.
