Kubota L2500
I have a Kubota L2500 with a Woods 1009 FEL. I am trying to mount a Bradco Rock Bucket in place of the Woods bucket. When I have the brackets on the Rock Bucket thin end up I don't get enough roll out to dump the rocks. When I have the mounting brackets fat end up I can't roll the bucket up enough to get it running just under the surface. Any suggestions?

David, I've been hoping someone else would have your answer. Seeing none, here goes. Your description seems different than brackets I'm used to. Can you post a picture of your mounting brackets and maybe a picture showing how they connect to your Kubota? Also, here's a link to an old web page of mine. The fourth picture shows the mounting brackets on my Precision Stone Fork, which looks strikingly similar to your Bradco Rock Bucket. I've had no trouble with my mounts. They work perfect. Best of luck.

The buckets do look very similar. The manufacturer with whom I have been emailing is now telling me I need to drill some new holes to get the needed range of motion. So is the dealer I bought it from. I am a novice at this and feel way over my head on what was supposed to be a "bolt on unit." The local machine shop would have to do the drilling and I certainly do not feel competant to locate the hole or that it will solve the problem. I feel like returning the unit to get out of this bind but the dealer is afraid he will get hit with shipping and restock charges. This is far more than I bargained for and any help would be appreciated.

I have attached one close up of the current setup. Thanks.

David

It looks to me that the bracket was put on upside down.
The bottom holes should be farther back & level to the ground .

Yes, the loader brackets are upside down.

DieselD,

Originally the brackets were the other way around. Then the bucket would not roll out enough to dump all the rock. It only rolled to 40 degrees below horizontal. The manufacturer told me to reverse them and in that position I can not level the bucket enough to get it in working position. Attached picture shows brackets in opposite position.

I just looked at the last picture more carefully and it looks like the back of the bracket maybe hitting the cross tab on the loader arm and blocking its rotation. Does anyone know why that tab is there?

David,
Referring to the last picture. I really feel that this is the way that the brackets should be configured. Have you tried moving the bucket up and using the bottom hole on the bracket, while leaving the cylinder in the hole it is in now?

Hi Dave,

From an engineering standpoint... you want the widest part of the bracket at the pivot point for the most strength...

If you move your bucket rods down, you will obtain a larger dump angle... (make sure it's not too much or you'll dump the rocks on top of your hood /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif)

On the bottom of the brackets, that connect to the pivot point of the loader arms, you can move up/down for the correct or near correct bucket level position...
