I noteced the other day that my tractor has something leaking down into the rim of the back right tire. Soon after I noticed this my brake pedal began sticking. I'm no genuis but I'm guessing a brake job is in order... I have known that one side was bad ( figured that out backing off of a trailer - only one side slowed down - made for an interesting trip!) for a while now, but I guess this is calling my hand.

Two questions - First -- how difficult is it to replace the brakes on a 3000 and Second -- what is that liquid that is leaking on my wheel. It seems to be coming from around the wheel hub.

Thanks
Scott

I assume this is a YM3000? I think you have two problems. The fluid leaking on your wheel is transmission fluid. You have a leaking rear axle seal. I don't know how difficult that is to fix. On some Yanmars, it can be done from the outside without removing the axle. On others, the axle has to be pulled, so you have to open the top of the tranny to release the axle.

The brakes are another problem. The sticking is likely due to rust where the shaft goes through the cover to where the brakes are. But if one brake doesn't work, its time for a brake job.
