Brake shoe replacement question

Little late here, but my local NAPA crries everything, including complete backing plate with magnet, shoes etc.
Have a couple supply/repair shops in the greater area that has everything too.
If you tow 10,000, are you doing bearing repack and/or replacement? Dexter says to repack them 12 months or 12,000 miles.

I have about 10,000 miles on it and is 1 year old. I am repacking the bearings. I ordered the backing plate set-up from etrailer.com. I checked Napa and Reilly's but wanted a specific company brand which they couldn't get. I didn't know at the time that this stuff was interchangeable.
The only thing now is if I can get the magnet faces perfect. If I cannot, oh well, maybe next time. I used this trailer for a bunch of trips from Wis. to TN and now I am done with the move. I may put on 1000 miles in the next year, but don't expect much more than that.

It has been a month since my GN brake job which turned out okay but haven't run it down the road yet because I need to change hitches in the truck because I have the camper hitch in it now. I decided to do a brake job on my camper right away because of the GN success story and because I haven't looked at them in maybe 20-30,000 and also because they don't seem to stop adequately plus seem to run to warm, except for one corner.
The axles are 8,000# and have 12-1/4" x 3-1/2" shoes so they are heavy duty, at least to me.
Three backing plates and shoes on the warm running corners looked sort of okay. The shoes had about 1/4"+ shoe left. The corner where it ran cool to the touch only had 1 shoe on and that was at least 1/4 to 3/8" thick.
What in the heck happened to the other pad???? The metal was there and rubbed on the hub doing a little damage, but no pad. :confused3: I do remember having one leaky corner worked on 10 years ago, but don't remember exactly which one. Was it bad from the factory or the camper dealership??:confused3:
I wanted to change all the magnets but magnets were half the price of the whole assembly, so I ordered all new assemblies and am having the hubs cut this morning, even though they looked fine, except where the magnets rode.

I've seen them separate before and all that is left is the backing plate. Not common but it does happen.
