Brakes Locked Down When pushed too hard?

We have a JD F 935 that was driving fine but since the brake pedals where stiff and heavy I tried pushing the red pedal (master pedal I guess) and it caused the brakes to "lock down". I have looked under the frame and lubricated the moving parts but have yet to find any kind of "release". Any suggestions?

Has it been sitting for a long time?

Not tractor but have had similar where every link all the way back had to be manipulated to free up...

Push down on the master brake pedal and lift the red knob by the key and hook it in it's slot. It sounds like you have the park brake engaged.
