Brakes

Hi All,

Still trying to find information on "what brakes"

My tractor (name plate states FE35) does not have drum brakes, but inboard disc, wet or dry I do not know.
Does anyone know which model first had inboard brakes?
Is it possible to identfy if wet or dry with out stripping down (ouch)

Look at the "spacerplate" between the diffhousing and the trumpethousing. If it looks the same from the back it is drybrakes...if it is full of riffles...wetbrakes !

But can you tell me what model of tractor would they would have fitted these to as a FE35 should have drum, and mine ain't drum.

Every so sorry but my hand phone does not take pictures and i would not know how to do it (too old)
But I followed DLTTrekkers advice and can now confirm that it is dry disc.

You could have a Frankenstein mix of parts, do you know any history of the tracktor?

Hi Agvg,
I suspect that you are correct (frankenstein mix of parts) I do not know any history at all about this tractor, but I do know that out here you can expect anything. It is looking like :- AD 4.203 perkins engine, FE front axle & steering / box, MF 65 rear end with dry disc brakes, MF 65 rear wheels 12.4 / 11 28 tyres. The thinking is, no matter if it is correct or not as long as it will work then ok, because out here you either repair it "some how" or you don't have it, and these tractors are used for rice production, that is your basic food, so if no tractor you do not have any food!!
Being an engineer I have seen many things done to machines, Kobota is the favered tractor because they are bought second hand from Japan, but you cannot buy any spare parts!! I have even been asked, please, please join by welding my 2 old broken gearbox main shafts as I cannot buy another and I must have a tractor for rice.
