See what the dealer says then if you don't get a good resolution I would call the regional rep. Worse case try to see if they will take it back and get a woods BH if available.

Sorry to burst your bubble, Woods is owned by Deere.

No worries - meaning the development and design is a bit different so that may solve the issues he is experiencing. Woods has a great reputation for making quality backhoes so that is why I suggested them. They also seem to make a lot of mounts so there maybe something available for his machine (I am not up on the Deere tractors and what Woods makes for them)
Could have said buy a Kubota and really stirred the pot. :stirthepot:
All joking aside it sounds like the dealer is looking into it, but if it was me my confidence in the product would be shot so I would prefer something different. Any make can have problems (Kubota did have some issues with one of their hoes in the past if I recall correctly) so if mine falls in that category I would just get something else. I personally hate when my eqpt breaks and if I have a possible avenue to get ahead of the issue I would at least consider it.
Hope the OP can get it all worked out to his satisfaction.

What can you do? Good Question. Just because the dealer uses the excuse that they've never seen something before, doesn't mean anything. There is always a first time, and now they've seen it twice.
They need to figure out if it's something to do with the hoe, the tractor, or your methods of operation and what you're trying to dig, as J_J said.
Show us some pics of what you're digging, most recent use of hoe, the last ten minutes since the new cylinder.
How much prior use/experience do you have on any tractor hoe?
Have patience, we'll figure this out.

Woods website states this is their owner: Blount International (NYSE: BLT), based in Portland, Oregon Until now I didn't know Woods owned Tisco.

So with mine it was a busted cylinder and the plunger broke and fell out...said they never seen anything like that before..so I just got it back today and used it for ten minutes and the exact same thing just happened...I am furious...I just called the dealer and they said they never heard of this and will call me back...what should I do??

I'd be complaining to JD headquarters.

Sucks to be delayed. I had a bad cylinder on my 4720 (as in the end cap welds had holes you could see through when the hydraulic fluid wasn't running out.....) My 485 has been fine. Based on the fact that you busted two cylinders in a few minutes tells me something else is wrong anbd the cylinder is the weak link. Wither and alignment issue is putting it in a bind, or they have something seriously wacked in plumbing/valving where you are pressurizing both sides or pressurizing one sides and not return dumping the other side.....

I'm not sure where you got your info about deere owning woods, but Blount just bought woods in 2011 and I am pretty sure deere doesn't own Blount. Maybe I read everything I found wrong but I never found anything about deere owning woods anywhere. Deere may pay woods to build some of there smaller attachments but I don't think deere owns them.

The new dealer at least realizes its a defective price of equipment, and states there is no way its operator error..I had a Kubota with a backhoe for years and never had a problem...I called john Deere corp and spoke to a supervisor , and all she does is state that they stand buy their warranty and does not respond with anything different when I tell her I don't want this defective price of equipment. She stated a regional rep will contact me but he has yet to do so.....I'm so aggravated right now

Understandable that you're really torqued over this issue. I suggest you call Deere back and get them to give you the name, number, email of the rep and have them put you through to his voice-mail, if not directly to him when you call; go after him/her instead of playing the waiting game. This deserves an immediate satisfactory response. Be nice about how you let them know how irked you are- you want them to help you not want to get away from you....:confused3::thumbsup:
