Brand New T4.75 already having major issues

Hi volt edge, you won't find much sniping here, just a lot of people with machinery experience that are trying their best to help out. I wonder if a simple on site service call by the dealer could get the problem fixed. It sure sounds like an adjustment problem that might be an easy fix. The leak you could deal with later, as time allows. That T4.75 is a sweet looking tractor, I'm thinking you're going to really enjoy his thing once the bugs are worked out.

I saw the post on paragraphs too and assumed the OP was referring to that.

I agree with the others, while surely frustrating especially if your income depends on them, it's not unusual for this to happen regardless of color and cost. I had something similar happen on a new expensive tractor. The dealer sent a service truck out to trouble shoot and repair if possible. It had to be taken in.

The dealer service rep called to see how critical it was to get it back as they were really busy as it was the peak of harvest and a lot of their customers are farmers. I had other tractors and don't depend on them for making money, so I told them no rush, if not, I would have expected a quick repair or other accommodation.

Trust me, I've had lemons and while it may turn out to be one, it's not even close now.

Best of luck.

I guess I'm different then everyone else on this forum and that's ok with me. My thinking is if I paid 30k+ for a tractor/vehicle, and with in a few months I have some very important mechanical problem like pto cable not working, and fluid leakage, and then I contact dealer where I bought it and or company, I expect to here YES SIR and HOW HIGH, I'm a big fan of, customer is always right, especially at 50k. New Holland should come get that tractor ASAP, they put a pto cable on that 50k tractor, they should make work one time every time.

When I bought my much cheaper $15,000.00 L3400 in (07), two months went by, Kubota sent a multiple 20 questionnaire piece of paper thing to fill out, like how happy you are with etc.........., well I did have a complaint, filled that thing, sent it back, thinking nobody's gonna read that, it's going in the round file, Two weeks went by, they sent a reply, basically it was sorry sorry sorry.............two more days went by, mid busy tractor season, the dealer calls me up, what's the problem?, you should told us... they said Kubota contacted them and want's issue resolved, it was.

I guess you should've bought a Massey!

LOL I'm kidding... Kind-of.

Anyhow... It's not the dealers fault that you don't like the manual PTO lever (not sure how you missed that when shopping) and it's not the dealers fault that your new machine has a couple (likely minor) issues. Of course, I'd assume that you aren't his only customer. As irritating as it may be, it's not uncommon for a dealer to be backed up, especially this time of year. Is there another dealer you can check with?

When I have had issues with my PowerStroke diesel, there are numerous dealers around me. Some will have a 3-4 week backup, while others say they'll get to it tomorrow. It's not the dealers fault that the engines have problems, so even though is irritating, I can't get entirely too upset with them for being busy.

If it's just the adjustment, well, crawl under there fix it, and quit *****'en
e
If some thing is broken inside. The dealer/mfg guarantee is all you have.

Tractors are not Kitchen Aid mixers.

Ditto to dealer involvement that everyone has said. Manual engagement with hydraulic assist is what you have. KISS principle is usually better, but they added the assist that I think is the problem. The hydraulic oil is probably coming from the assist cylinder on the RH side of the transmission that helps make the PTO engagement easier. Your description doesn't specify whether it feels normal or like the cable is disconnected, but either way, it sounds as though a pin fell out down by the hydraulic assist cylinder, causing the assist to over extend and puke oil. I have seen the cylinder or lines on these make a mess, but usually keep operating. The design is different, but works well. Might talk to dealer about someone local fixing, have them take pictures and have the dealer pay. Probably cheaper than the labor/fuel to dispatch mechanic or haul it back to shop.
T4, T4000 and TN series have used this and are dependable systems and tractors.

I apologize Gary Fowler. The guy was the first to comment and didn't offer any help just that I needed to use paragraphs in a sarcastic wording. I appreciate everyone's assistance. I called the dealership and they are mainly a Kubota dealer, thus they really had no clue as to anything about my NH. The service guy actually referred me to a dealer that is strictly NH? LOl They were more than willing to offer assistance. I have been lucky to have the PTO work yesterday, but it rained and I have not had a chance to check it today. This is a great group for assistance and I truly appreciate you all!!!

I looked at the t4.75s a couple of times. Able to get a better price from a dealer 3 hours away but thought about getting it services or worked on. The dealer closest to me sells mostly Massey now and I've driven the 75 on their load on two occasions about 1.5 years in between. First time the pto lever would not stay in the engaged spot. Latest time the tractor would not go into park. Both of these are adjustment items that the dealer should be responsible for but why do they put it out on the yard or likely in a customers yard without proper adjustments.

Same can be said of any dealer. However it's not always theirs. Purchased a new kubota m59 last year and put it on a construction site two hours away. In a couple of months the loader bucket would not curl. Had the dealer come up and a factory installed bolt in the control linkage apparently was never tightened and had come out. They fixed that but I had to pay the mileage.

voltedge I will say these few things.

Usually problems like this are going to rear it's ugly head right off the bat and that seems to be what happened here.

Now if you are that pushed to get stuff in the ground on a very timely manner you're not going to be able to rely on just one tractor, you really need some sorta backup.

As far as the manual PTO I wish they all still had that as you can ease it on. Pop a yellow PTO button on a NH 9' DiscBine or a big Grinder Mixer and you'd be wishing you could ease it on :) No that works here on my sons farm likes "electric over hydraulic" PTO engagement.

BTW: Tell the dealer 2 weeks is absolutely unacceptable, if it comes down to that.

I too wish they had manual pto engagement. It is far better for anything I do. As far as I'm concerned, pretty much all of these electric solenoid activated features are just cheap engineering.

To the OP; I understand the aggravation, but if that is what you consider "major problems" then I hope you never see any major problems. Adjustments and small leaks are generally not major....but if not dealt with they could become major in some cases.

PS, nice tractor you got there!
