Branson 7845c Block heater Question?

   / Branson 7845c Block heater Question? #11
The 7845 & 8050 are not the same engine. Different designs.
unfortunately there is not a port on the 7845 engine to fit a screw in block heater. I know we've installed the lower radiator hose heater and we've installed an extra one on the heater hoses going up to the cab (tank heater) seems to make a big difference but now you have two electrical plugs. Fortunately the 7845 start really well providing you have good battery power.

Mr Bitz;
Would you expand upon that?
When I look at the parts breakdowns, the blocks, starters, cylinder heads are the same?
When I look at the 7845C plumbing, the pipe threaded port used for the cab heater is the same port
I used for a block heater.
I know a few years ago when I looked at an open station 7845 it had the unused pipe plug in the same location?
To my knowledge they both use the D3400T block, the same bore and stroke?

I have heard that the K78 series uses a 2.7KW starter can you confirm that?
As far as a 7845 being a good starter in the winter I have no clue,
I do know that my 8050 would not start in sub zero untill I replaced the trans/hydraulic fluid,
it would make about 2 engine revolutions and refuse to turn anymore till it had set for 10 minutes,
and then repeat untill it warmed up or a heater warmed up the tractor.
It had the lower radiator hose heater in it at that time that my dealer had installed.
Lou
