I have been researching and looking real hard at the Branson 8050. I got pricing from a dealership last week on the purchase of an 8050, and was ready to pull the trigger on one. I called the dealership this morning to confirm availability, he contacted the Branson rep, the rep informed him that the 8050 is no longer being produced, and that none are available.

It's kind of a let down for me, It appeared to be a really solid piece of iron, but I guess at this point the search will continue....

They might be coming with some new stuff for that size tractor.

I know they've introduced the Branson P110 a couple of months ago that should be around 100HP.

Anyways, there is the 7845 available for the same HP as the 8050. From Kapper video's and on typical Branson fashion, it's a beast. Same engine, probably more features than the 8050, since it's a newer model.

I had heard that it was dropped and I was hoping I had been misinformed, but I guess not

I had heard that it was dropped and I was hoping I had been misinformed, but I guess not

Unfortunately according to the Branson rep, they have ceased production, or at least shipment for the US market. I have been in contact with two separate Branson dealers in my area, and per my request they both contacted Branson regarding the 8050, and both dealerships were told that they are no longer available.

I would like to thank personally both LouNY, and travlitt here on TBN for taking the time to answer all of my questions, I certainly appreciated it... I was really looking forward to an 8050, but with the end of production I have my concerns.

I guess for me, I will probably end up with either a Massey 4707, or the 75hp Case/New Holland. I might hold out to see what the new 110hp Branson is about, but I really wanted to avoid a DEF system if possible, and I really wouldn't utilize a 110 hp tractor, but if the price is right who knows....

Maybe the T/YM takeover has made for model designation changes. Makes sense. Other reason might be sales volume not satisfactory, or cost to produce excessive. In looking at my 6530 which is no longer available (for quite awhile now) cost may have been the reason for it's discontinuance, surely not due to quality or performance.

8050 reason for discontinued production.
From my understanding is lack of support. The 8050 was produced in the same production line as the European market for the JD. So if you sell 200 JDs and 20 Branson's which would you supply service for more readily? Yes the JD. So Kukje supplied service manuals for the JDs and not the Branson 8050. The 8050 does not have service manuals available for it. Thus any problems that would arise for the 8050 was hard to repair due to lack of schematics and service manuals. Branson said they can't have that and discontinued orders for the 8050. I'm pretty sure if you try hard enough you could still get an 8050 from Branson if they have any left in the yard, but don't count on having any support for that tractor. Last time I was at the Branson office they had like 3 8050s left. I think they are a very heavily built tractor and I guess they have had very little trouble with them but unfortunately due to the above mentioned they are no longer being produced. Hope this helps .

I test drove a 7845, and it was a nice Tractor, but according to the literature the 8050 comes in at 1,660 lbs. heavier than the 7845, and when you add the weight difference between the front end loaders, that number climbs to 2,365 lbs. And for my particular application, weight would certainly be to my advantage.

The 7845 stacks up well against the 75hp Case/NH offering in the weight department, but I am really looking for something with a cab that can accommodate an instructor seat, and I'm just not convinced that this is really an option with the 7845.

It's just a shame the 8050 didn't sell very well, in the world of utility tractors of this hp range, it sat alone at the top in several categories...

I am almost tempted to just grab one of the last ones I see that are still showing available throughout the Country, but long term parts and service concerns me, simply because of how few units it appears to have been sold.

This coupled with the fact that the Branson dealer whom I would have to rely on for service made it quite clear that they, because it has ended production, wouldn't have even brought one in for me had there been any available at the warehouse. They are not interested in supporting something that is not currently in production, which is a piss poor attitude to have if you ask me, and tells me I might just be better off taking my money elsewhere....

They still have them available on the dealer order sheets!!!!! just sayin. I would say if Branson has any available at the warehouse yet they need to discount them offer them to a dealer no warranty tractor is as is end of story.

What really chaps my butt is that they failed to get service manuals for this tractor, as far as I am concerned that should be illegal.
It certainly leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
Hard to say much good about a manufacture that refuses to provide service manuals for an expensive tractor.
