Branson and/or Mahindra

   / Branson and/or Mahindra #31
I just spent three months in India last summer. There are several popular brands of tractors in use there but Mahindra apparently sells more tractors than all the other brands combined. Needles to say that the tractors for local market are anything like the US models. No bells and whistles, most of them are two wheel drive but they take the abuse. Farmers like them. I guess I saw one front loader only but I saw bunch of dozer blades on them.

The US assembly plant for Kioti is 30 miles away. The east coast TYM assembly plant is 20. There's plenty of both in this area and both have a good reputation for solid machines. Don't know much about Branson other than from here.

I've got a mahindra 2810HST which as was said is a rebadged TYM chassis with a Kioti engine. 6 years and 700 hours, 2 minor issues, $0 repair costs other than maintenance. A coworker has a 15 series and has been just as satisfied so far.

At the risk of being redundant, there are lots of good tractors out there but doubt every area has a good dealer to support them. Ask around about the dealer. Word gets around quick if they're slipshod.
