I'll give a friendly suggestion on the hydraulic filter for anyone who reads this thread.

Branson uses a hydraulic filter on the suction side of the pumps, so all the fluid, gets filtered before entering the pumps and the rest of the hydraulic components. This filter can't be too restrictive or it will starve the pumps for oil and destroy them. Pumps are expensive, very expensive. Also, those HST need a good supply of oil as well.

I'll always suggest, keep it OEM. It's the safest best. It works, you know it works, no second guessing.

Out of the list on that website, there have been people with hydraulic issues using the Wix filter, because it gets too restrictive, specially in cold weather, when the fluid is thicker. I have no feedback on the Donaldson one.

With this being said, I'm using the Baldwin BT372-10. So far so good, however, it doesn't get that cold over here. 0C or 32F at most, maybe a couple days under that, mostly at night. I ain't using the tractor during that time, so I have no idea if this filter will be problematic in colder climates.

Another option, would be the Mann Filter WD10 007, which I may try the next time I change this filter.

Again, the safest bet is to keep it OEM. It's not that much more expensive.

I'm with you, but the problem is, i could not find OEM for a reasonable price, not for the motor oil, nor hydraulic.
Just ordered TG3985 which has much better characteristics than WIX or Napa and only $9. I used them for two oil changes already with my tractor and use XD for all my cars and other equipment for years.

Last year i was lucky to get two hydraulic filters for $78, so still have one.
I dont think any of the listed hydraulic filter will be an issue. We dont have any data on the original nor on the substitute so everything is just speculations and guesses as much as i know. At least i could not find any reliable data to compare.
I doubt Branson is soooo specific that it will die from using not an OEM filter while all other tractors do just fine. The terrible stories are might or might not be true, we know only one side of the story, we will never know the whole story with proven evidence that the filter was the culprit.
Anyway, i'll continue to use TG filters if XD are not available for motor oil, and when i need one for hydraulic, if the OEM is not readily available, i'll use one from the list. The worst thing if i see tractor looses power, i'll be out $20-25.
