Older thread but I got my first look at Mahindra's yesterday on dealers lot.
Since I have a 3510 Branson, 35 hp is what I looked at first.
I'm NOT going to run out and buy one!
A 34.5 hp tractor w/4 WD and FEL- $23,000. PLUS!!! (I don't remember the last 3 numbers, I guess I was in shock)
I didn't open the hood to see the gold plating that must have been there.
I did see that they use outboard gear reduction housings on the rearend and the rear axle looked no where near as heavy as my Branson.
It just overall didn't look as well designed or made as my Branson.
Also their choice of spokesperson is strange since I doubt he would know the front of the machine from the back!
I think he even miss pronounces the name with too much emphasis on the last half of the name.

I bought my Branson 5220R (55hp/turbo) 4x4/front end loader for just a little more than the 34.5 hp Mahindra you referenced. I know that Mahindra makes a good tractor but I will take mine for the price and it weighs in at just under 4200 lbs. without the FEL.

I was going to offer up a whole bunch of insite to this thread, but because I have started one of my own a while back that I haven't updated, even though, my defective HST pump was repaired, there is still a ton more that goes with that statement and how I was treated by Branson, and the issues my tractor is till having to this day. Leaves a person feeling a little hateful and irate to think it could never have happened to me.

OK So I drove the Branson 2400H in the dealers field which was not level and had waist high grass also some trees and a dip with loose soil and a pretty good uphill rise. The steering and throttle and direction was easy to operate but it stalled repeatedly on the uphill (perhaps the fuel level was too low).

I had a 2800H. I live on a property with some relatively steep hills in spots. When others would drive the branson up said hills, they would stall the tractor if in high gear. Remember on these HST models, the "go" pedal is not linked to the throttle. The less you press the pedal, the lower the gear, the harder you press the pedal the higher the effective gear. The natural tendency is to "punch it" if the going gets tough up hills, when really you should throttle up, and give less go pedal at the foot. Punching the go pedal at the foot will surely stall it, even on the flat if in too low RPM. Think of it as upshifting to 4th gear going up a hill.

I'd recommend the 00 bransons to anyone looking for that sized tractor. too bad the 2800H with turbo isn't around anymore...
