Breaking ice on the pond

Got up early this morning. The air was crisp and cold and my breath was visible. Took a sledge hammer to bust the ice on the pond so the cows could get a drink. So many cold days in a row, man I can't wait for summer.



Well, I wish that was the case. Its 106 and humid and just unbearable right now. And I don't have any cows.

You say that now. I travel a bit. last Feb I was in Thialand. In Indiana in Feb, a bit chilly. So the wife and friends are thinking sounds so good. Me thinks not so goods. Did you know you can put close on and the cops don't notice, but when you take them off, people start..noticing! When I got back I was on my tractor moving snow,,,,and loving it.

Today, 94? deg,,110 % humidity!

Yup - the wife commented yesterday morning after she got outside that "it really isn't that bad." I just laughed ...... and told her to give it a little bit.

We both ended spending pretty much the entire day outside doing yard work, cleaning the garage out, and repotting tree seedlings. Got drenched with sweat repeatedly and had to take a shower two different times, mainly to get any poison ivy debris off me from the weedeater.

Mike, the drain pipe should be here today, along with a 2x2x2 catchbasin for over at the polebarn.

Man oh man, the older I get the harder the heat is to bear. It was only a balmy 100 deg. when I welded my carport cover together, the leather shirt was a nice addition to my comfort level.

I'm sure glad I live where I do. We had a beautiful high of 85 yesterday. My son called from Oklahoma. I think he said it a was about 100.

Today we have a forecast high of 89. A hundred miles east and north of us, they have forecast highs of 99!

CAn't send any 'humid' but have plenty of 'hot' you can have. We have been running way above normal over on this side of the state (Eastern Wa) for most of the month. Gotten so that any day under 90 is a break. Predicted to hit 99 or even over the century by the weekend.

Yeah, got some of that "ice" here too. After wearing a cast on my left leg for the past 4 weeks, I got it removed this morning. FINALLY got to climb back on a tractor just a while ago. I had some weeds that needed mowing 4WEEKS AGO. They were about 5 feet tall, full of moisture, and out in that COLD sun shine. Liked to baked me. 95 at 5PM, Down to a brisk 93 now. Think I'll dig out the insulated cover-alls.

All winter, we cry about the cold. All summer, we whine about the heat. You just can't please some of us.
