The BX2200 uses the Kubota D905 engine of approximately 55 cubic inches. This is a well proven engine in the Kubota lineup used in several out sourced products as well as the B1700 (aka B1700, B2100, and B2400 Delux tractors--prior to the intro of the BX and the new 7500 and 7400 and B2410). This engine in the B1700 produced 17 horsepower at 2600 RPM. In the Kubota BX the engine is uprated to I think 3,300 RPM for 22 horsepower. There are several old threads on this subject. My BX runs smooth and I rarely need anything more than 3/4 throttle and about 1/2 throttle for most FEL work.
Attached is a brochure picture of the B1700 hydro Deluxe tractor with the same engine as the BX. I had originally wanted one of these but when I went to buy it there was only the BX and B7500 as this series of B Deluxe tractors was defunct. These tractors were the same wheelbase and frame size as the current B2410. The rest is history.
