Where do I begin.....
I probably aughtta keep my trap shut. But that's not my nature.

I've got to sing the praises of low gas prices!

Local discount station has regular for $2.05.9
Diesel is $2.65.9

The funny part is, I called about having my farm tank filled wit off-road diesel this morning. It's still $3.01.9

Farm, Around here regular has gone down to $2.17 after I just filled my 300 gallon in ground fuel oil tank @ $2.39 a gallon ... I'm afraid to call and ask them about todays price.. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I think its hilarious that three weeks ago, everyone was talking about how we were getting raped by the oil companies. Now we're singing praises that fuel is down to just about double what it was last year....This is the reason I dont believe we'll ever see prices anywhere near what they used to be. We get used to it,realize there's nothing we can do about it.

Anyhow, you guys are doing pretty good. Here in Georgia, known for having some of the lowest prices in the country, its still $2.36 at most stations for regular.Going down though.

Hilarious? Not hardly.... Where we have the "instant faces", we need a big ol' flashin' SARCASM light. My "singing the praises of low fuel prices" was just that. When it gets to the point where I can get diesel and gasoline for under $1 a gallon, I'll turn off the sarcasm light.

All things being equal though, $2 is better than $3, and it's available too. A couple months back, there was some doubt as to how that would pan out.

Well, ours IS ALREADY under $1.00 - but per litre!!! 4.54 litres per imperial gallon, or 4 litres per US gallon /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

No doubt it was sarcastic. Its just something we need to accept. Sorry, but I seriously doubt it will ever be below $1.75 again. Less than $2 would surprise me, at least here. Surely other areas will be different.

Sadly, I think you're right. I'd bet the ranch that gas won't be this "cheap" here much longer. As soon as there's some newsworthy event anywhere in the world, crude oil prices will charge back to all-time highs again, I'm sure.

Way back in the early 1970's, a business aquaintance of my dad mentioned the same exact words. "we will just have to get used to higher prices". He wasn't neccissarily talking about fuel prices, just prices in general.

What goes up doesn't always come back down.

Here 87 is currently $2.02 at a couple places ..... looking for it to go sub $2 ....

Now if diesel would only follow suit .... filled the truck up last night @ $2.96 ....... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Saw regular for $2.11 yesterday. The cheapeast diesel I saw was $3.09. I hope diesel in my area comes down soon. My PU truck is getting low and I sure would like to save $.50 a gallon on the fill up.
