Don,
I'm sure I've been over your bridge several times. We lived in Abilene when I was a kid (in the 50's), and our family made lots of trips to Austin (both parents UT grads) down 183. My Dad still lives right off of 183 in Jolleyville.
My parents bought 2 golf course lots back in 1970 on their way out of Austin heading back to Calgary. They built a house there a few years later, and my Mom said it was the only thing that kept them from going crazy up north. Knowing that they had a home to return to in Texas. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif ("Not that there's anything wrong with Calgary" as Seinfeld would say. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif)
Of course now those lots that were so far out of town are right in the middle of "civilization". /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
