1.3 miles from there.. I go through all the time, never brought liquor though but know people that do, hence why I know the law..

We just used to put large bottles of cheap US VODKA in Bug-Juice, windshield washer containers and avoid any miscommunication entirely. lol

Does Seagrams make VO for Canadian consumption or is it strictly an export thing? In any event, it will not have aged any in glass so unless it got some air (bad thing) it will be the same as it was 50 years ago. Trying to think of liquor sizes 50 years ago. I think in the US we still had quarts, pints and half pints (and maybe gallons in some markets but rare). I also recall a bottle somewhere between the pint and quart but can't recall the term. As such unless it's a gallon you will be fine. Btw, VO on the rocks has become my favorite. Price of scotch has gone nuts. Price of bourbon more so.

My dad got acquainted with a guy from Humboldt Sask and they became very good friends. Fishing, moose hunting etc. One year we headed up for a fishing trip with a trailer in tow. Dad was always "giddy up go" on the road but for some reason slowed things down as we got close to the border (Portal N.D. as I recall). Turns out he was waiting for mid-night to cross. Declared nothing. The border agent asked to inspect the trailer and dad said ok. At that time of night the agent apparently changed his mind and waved us through. Two cases of brandy (hard to find outside of Wisconsin), 25 cases of beer and several cartons of cigarettes that could only be found in the US.

We only did that because the bugs up in Canada are so thick hard to get off the windsheild, eh? Well, before, "climate change" anyway.

Back then, Canada Customs reminded me more of Uncle Bobby or Mr. Rodgers, dressed in comfy pullovers and were certainly not armed.

You are in Ontario. Travelling through the prairie provinces really made a mess on the windshield.
