Bro-Tek Skidplate - how to buy?

Perhaps I'm blind or dumb, but I can't figure out how to actually PURCHASE something from Bro-Tek. I want to order a skidplate for the BX series, and while I can find info on their site about the plates themselves at www.bro-tek.biz, I don't see any info on how to actually purchase one. Anyone know? Nothing on E-bay where I see their thumb listed frequently.

I like the ripper tooth, but I can't justify the $$$ for the little use it would get. If the price point was a little lower it would be easier to part with the money.

What is the price? And what would you use it for? I watched a video somewhere of someone using one, and I couldn't really think of any occasion that I'd use such a thing.

If you have a lot of stumps to dig up, they're worth the money. You use the ripper to cut the roots, which makes it come out much easier. Other than that, or maybe clearing out a lot of bushes with big root systems, I can't really see much use for it. I think it's one of those "either you need it, or you don't" kind of things, kinda like a post hole digger.

Digging stumps was in my top three reasons for getting my BX, first being fun, and second being putting in walkways and walls. I have about 25 stumps to dig up from dead trees I cut last summer.

Me too. I have nearly 40 stumps that need to be pulled. Some of mine are just too big for the BX24. For the past week, I've been fighting a hard battle with my personal "White Whale", a large pine stump cut last fall. Last night just before dark, I finally broke the last root and I succeeded in dragging it out of the bomb crater hole that I had dug around it. I'm going to post a picture of it in a separate thread. It's a monster. Be prepared to do a little manual labor in the hole if they are big. I had to dig around and hand saw a dozen arm-sized roots which were under the large surface roots and out of reach for the backhoe. Hard work for an out of shape old man.

I just ordered the skid plates from Bro-Tek, very nice stuff. It was $280 for both front and rear. I think the rear alone is $180. They came packaged very well with all the hardware to mount, I recommend this product. The only thing that could make it tougher is to make it out of 1/4" plate verses 1/8" plate.
