Well finally got the darn computer to work. The third photo is basically how it set into the tractor hydraulic reservoir with o ring seal held in place by one bolt, then the suction line sets on top as shown in 4th photo with o ring seal and the same one bolt. I have to install the suction pipe onto the filter housing then work that crooked son of a gun up thru all the other lines to push it into a rubber hose connection with a hose clamp. I guess you don't need much to hold a suction line

I got the parts ordered,(not in stock of course) $50 filter housing, $30 for the filter, $4 for 2 O-rings
got some photos of the cast aluminum housing and ridged pipe connection. Something is wrong somewhere cant get the manage attachments to open up. I'll try later to put on some pic.

Could of been worse. $84 and some repair time... ah not bad for "dozer rental" Sounds like you have been getting some good seat time on the 'bota lately. I have about 210 hrs on the Kioti.

Gary, glad the price wasn't too bad. Any chance you can have the old part welded just in case it should get damaged again, hopefully not of course. I'm thinking too that maybe you need to fabricate some type of shield to protect the new part or other parts that might be vulnerable to being damaged. Thanks for the pics. Stanley

I might could be welded but likely would cost more than a new one. Aluminum welding isn't cheap. I have the foot on my outboard motor welded and it was a simple straight weld and it was $100. This would require some careful welding and then some machining to get all the excess metal of or out of the suction side. At least getting it off was a piece of cake once I got a socket extension of the exact needed length, 3" was too long and 2" was too short, luckily I got my swivel joint to fit on to take out that first bolt. The tractor is over a quarter mile from my house so of course I didn't take a Phillips screwdriver to loosen that on hose clamp or nut driver to take off the other one.

It was a beautiful day here to work outside or take a 1/4 mile walk.... maybe yours was too.

I got all my parts yesterday and started trying to reinstall everything. Pretty tricky snaking that steel pipe back up thru everything and no matter how I put it in place I couldn't qet it in place without being in a bind somewhere. I may have been bent a bit from the collision that broke the filter so I will just have to tweek it a bit if I ever get it all back together. I worked at it for over an hour trying the get the tube inserted into the hydraulic reservoir and get the holding bolt to start. Not a lot of room to work the fingers or any tool in there but finally got it to slip in most of the way and got the bolt started then couldn't find my ratchet anywhere and couldn't get the tube next to the pump to slip in without some heavy prying and then it started to rain so I had to abandon the fix for now. It is still raining today and supposed to rain all day. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny but cool so maybe I can work on it then before I leave for Christmas holidays.

I guess I should have known I would have problems when I drove up to the tractor and a cow had pooped a huge pile right where I had to lay down. Luckily I had two big pieces of cardboard from a box that they hadn't pooped on. Brother in laws Darned cows poop more than any animal I have ever seen. The whole pasture is one big poop pad. They sure were enjoying scarfing up all the acorns from under the big oaks though.

Yuk! Leave it to the cows to foretell your day.

Kubota must think you will never use a tractor in brush. You would think they would put guards around filters hanging on the bottom of tractors. My L39 has two hydraulic filters exposed on the bottom. I built my own guard after denting one of the filters in brush. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/155494-l39-filter-guard-right-side.html

I remembered: orange, and a really clean, high functioning build. If I wasn't thinking of something 4shorts did, it must have been yours.

For the 'bota guys, I'll ask - "Still got your Day Job ?"

Well yesterday was spent watching 3+" of rain fall and the large pond overflow and wash out some of the dam which I got out in the rain and put some crushed shale in place using my LS P 7010 with cab to slow down the erosion and opened up the overflow to let out more water and faster.
This morning I went back to the B26 and finished up the install of the new filter housing and attached the ridged pipe to the hydraulic pump, put back the oil (got it a little over full and will have to let some out) everything worked as it should and was able to put my baby back in the shed. Removal of a quart or so of oil will have to wait for a warmer day. That reservoir is weird, it wasn't even touching the stick and put in a gallon and oil started running out the dipstick hole. It went down a bit when I cycled the system and the new filter filled up. Sure glad that is over.

Congratulations on getting that fix done Gary.

PITA when stuff like that happens, good to have a tractor back in shape, without big $'s for parts.
