Thanks for those part numbers. Those are the same ones i found.
I just called Bobcat. I've usually found them to be cheaper, but not in this case. They wanted 101 for that filter housing. I ended up ordering from Michigan Iron and Equipment for 57. I was tempted to order from Bobcat, because they are so nice on the phone. Super helpful, when they can be. But, i couldn't swallow almost double the price.
I found the color of the oil very surprising. This hydraulic oil has just over 100 hours on it, and it looks clear on the dipstick. It's the traveler premium stuff. I guess it will be getting replaced now anyway. I got myself a new filter too, for good measure, in case dirt got in. I hope this is an easy swap. It would be easier if the tractor wasn't in the woods. But, at least it isn't far.
I'm going to figure out if i can armor this filter. It's really the only thing that appears to be in danger, and I've always been aware of it. I have the backhoe, which has a big arm that passes beside the filter, and is a little lower, so it sort of protects it. But i must have hit the root just right. Unless i somehow bumped the filter when mounting the backhoe, which i had just done 30 minutes before it failed. However, I backed the tractor in just right the first time, and the install went very smoothly, so i don't think i hit it.
At first glance, it looks like it may be difficult to armor this filter. Anyone done this?
