Broken already!

Only 25 hours and it's already broken:yell:






Mowed all day and temperature never showed above cold mark, where gauge shows even when off.

I checked the connection on top of the motor, the fuses, and under the dash board. All looks good.

Called the dealer, waiting on call back.

Not really mad, yet. Stuff happens. Now I'll see how good the dealer is on fixing stuff.

Virtually all new tractors arrive with three or four glitches such as this. If you only experience a single glitch, count yourself lucky.

There are three screws that attach the mechanical part of gauge to printed circuit board, all three of mine were loose... No gauge reading, little short stubby phillips screwdriver snugged them up all is good....

Little man in Indonesia (where my 1715 was assembled) took rice break...

Back when I was a sales rep with company cars I think that each came with serious 'snags'

One lost the left front wheel as there was no grease in the wheel bearing.
Another had the differential lock up because there was no lubricant in it.
Then again another blew out the rear window when I closed the door. This one was on the same day I took delivery.
Another could not retain oil after the first oil change due to improper oil filter specs.

I could add a few more lesser 'snags' that were less impressive.

For the above reasons when I had to pay for my cars out of pocket I referred to research and buy low mileage 'off lease' experienced vehicles.
So far that option has not let me down.
But then perhaps I am not a normal consumer as I was also a certified aviation mechanic so had a above normal understanding of mechanics.
Also I avoid dealerships and prefer a local 'back yard mechanic' type for my maintenance.
Dealerships IMHO simply replace parts until the problem disappears, all at your expense.

As to my tractor, that is where I like to get my hands dirty.

I typically work on all my own stuff too, AFTER the warranty is up. Since this is a warranty issue, they will fix it.
I have not had time to check those 3 little screws, if it even has them.
Dealer called this morning, haven't called him back yet.
I know nothing is perfect, especially mechanical things, built by human hands.

Well - I must be one of the lucky few. My 2009 Kubota M6040 arrived new, with no glitches and still has not its first glitch.

How far away is your dealer? I知 wondering if the warranty service includes coming to your place or do you have to bring it in? If you have to trailer it any distance and your time is worth anything then it seems like you壇 be dollars ahead to try and do all the troubleshooting you can on your own.

Dealer contacted yesterday, supposed to stop by today and take a look. Suspects sending unit. Waiting on him now.

Dealer just left. No connection to sending unit. May have to take it in, they do that if needed, no charge. He wants to check wiring diagram to see how much disassembly is needed first.

My New Holland Workmaster 50 had a recall (campaign) for several things that I didn't realize was an issue. The only issue that I had was too short pins in the FEL quick attach. The darn attachment would come unhooked sometimes. As far as the tractor functions there were no issues.

Youæ±*e a genius! One screw was very loose, tightened up and have my temp gauge back!
