broken Ford 8n seat bolt

Hi this is my first post so I am not sure this is where it belongs. On my ford 8n I recently broke the seat bolt while trying to remove it (It is sheared off nearly flush). I attempted using an extractor but I did not drill my hole on center, so I was thinking of pulling the rear cover that has the 3pt on it to access the back side of the bolt.

I don't think that bolt goes all the way through.

Do you have a picture of the broken bolt?

The rear one looks to be a through hole.
I am wondering would it be easier to remove that top section from the transmission?

lay a washer around the hole and weld the shank to the washer, now law a big nut on the washer flange and weld the inside center ( stud shank ) and edge of washer tot he large hex nut.

after the red goes away, but still hot.. try to turn it out with a impact wrench set to LOW , lowest power... the heat helps.. and the hammering helps.

I use an impact on things that i think may shear on a straight pull..

ps.. you could also die grinder around the shank a bit and just go right to the nut and skip the washer..

I am with SG on the washer and the nut. My welding is not the greatest and I usually have better luck that way than welding inside the nut

Take a punch and split it at thinnest point then chip it out in pieces.

i doubt it will chip out. at best, if oem, it was a gr5 equiv bolt. i'd almost say turn it out with a chissle.. but i bet if it stuck enough to shear.. it's in ther eand the chissle will just make it shorter and harder to weld too ..

It would come out, split it, then take the chisel and work on it where it is split. It will curl up and come out.
