I broke off a grease fitting on a Kubota BX23 front loader attachment Part of the threaded stem is still in the hole. How do I get it out?

With a thing called an 'easy out'. They sell them at lots of places, like auto parts shops.

An "easy out" is the way to go as mentioned, and having been an auto mechanic for 34 years I have found that the tapered spiral type are most durable. You might need to drill out the hole a little to match the size of your easy out and some grease zerks are mighty hard - a cobalt bit is the ticket for this. I keep the bit and easy out in my toolbox on my truck - it's common to break zerks loading gravel & rocks at the bucket and it's a quick fix in the field with these 2 items and a cordless drill.

A L/H bit might remove it prety simply. If not use the ez-out that will fit the hole.

The ez out might hit the pin before it grabs. If so just slide out the pin. It is an easy repair. You can get a grease-fitting tool that has an ez out and a wrench all in one. Keep them greased. I have been working on my D4c dozer replacing all the bearings and pins in the blade, c frame, tractor frame and the hydro cylinders. The old owners did not keep it greased well. All told I will spend around $2000. Just to get the blade tight again because they did not keep greased.

Enrpg, I just went though the same thing with two fittings . ( Yup, I'm a hack ! ) I got one out with the EZ out. The other refused to move at all . The good news is that a bucket pin costs less than $10 . BTW Welcome to TBN ,and breaking things /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif John

The first thing I'd do, if you don't have an EZ out, is take a small screw driver or pick and see if you can turn it. It may be loose enough to just unscrew.

If the threads are sticking out of the hole then use a dremel. If its flush use a wore out(small) cutting disk. Cut a small slot in it and unscrew with a flat blade screw driver.

Sometime you can take a LEFT HAND drill bit and can back it out also.

and if all else fails, weld a nut to it and unscrew it that way
