broken grill

Hi Folks,

I purchased a used 2810 with FEL in January. Well, yesterday I was pushing some broken tree limbs on the ground so I could mow/brush cut. One limb came up between the brush guard and the grill and broke the upper grill (my parts book calls it the mask #NTD610E010A0). The local dealer (good guy) said I had to buy the entire grill assembly, not just the upper grill piece (ouch, hard on the wallet)! Does anyone know of any used parts available. I guess next time I will be a little more careful. The tractor is like new (96 hours) and I hate that it now looks like it was in a demolition derby (at least the grill).

I had a buddy of mine jumped on my 4720 and ran a stick through the bottom
of my grill also, needless to say I was pi$$ed!
Thing was he had never been on it or ask to run it at the time...
Anyway it wasnt that bad I was able to pull it off and used some epoxy
to mend it back together along with some fiberglass strips along the back side
for added support.
I ended up with what looks like a hair line crack at the bottom.
So if ya got all the pieces try and glue it up!

Don't be too hard on yourself - Most of us have done the same thing

I had 60 hours on my TN before I dented the front corner of the hood in with the end of a log.

Our grill (3510) is in the barn in pieces. Will eventually piece it back together with epoxy and fiberglass tape but not until I have finished clearing our place - to many opportunities to put another stump root through the grill - probably right after repairing it! We did mount a set of work lights on the ROP and I have plans of tacking some expanded metal into the push bar to better protect the battery and air cleaner. However, for the next 5 or so years that yawning dark hole on the front of the tractor looks plain mean. Stumps beware!

Same thing here with my 3820i grill. We bought a fiberglass kit the hardware, roughed up the edges, placed the fiberglass on back side. We can see the repair if you look hard.

Hi Folks,

Well, I finally got around to patching up the grill. The epoxy kit and fiberglass works if you just have some patience! Thanks for the help and advice. I don't have pics but it looks ok for the shape it was in after the tree limb. I plan to add another piece of steel on the lower part of the brush guard to try and prevent future limbs from getting to the grill.
