Dogs go in circles before lying down because when they were wild the would mat the grasses down and create a "depression" where they could sleep. Most dogs prefer to be in a corner with there backs to the wall. That way, they only have to be concerned with one direction of attack by a predator. This is the reason that dogs like the plastic kennels with the wire doors more so than wire cages. It gives them a sense of security. My dachshund likes to sleep under the covers and I learned that so did her mother. She has taught this to the Weimeraner also. When you can't find them, just look in one of the bedrooms for a lump under the covers. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
