I am from Latvija. Germans call it Lettland. It's nort-east side of Baltic sea. I have to drive SW good 10 - 11 hours till I reach Berlin. 1200 km

Latvija is very small state, less than 2M people, so obviously info in Latvian on specific topics (like tractors) is close to nothing.
I am not so good in German (I barely can understand them talking) so I have joined English speaking forum. I found it really funny, that we have +/- the same issues.
Snow is snow, doesn't matter have it fallen at Mount Rainier or in North EU

Perhaps you will get a late snowstorm and have a chance to play with your new toy. There will be a learning process, and you will probably discover the most effective methods to clear snow through trial and error.

I am selling / servicing industrial woodworking equipment. Besides other machines we are dealing with one Italian company which makes brushing / structuring machines. They are used for to make wood look old. Mainly that wood goes for fancy floors and panels. And I have learned that by adjusting rotation speed, feeding speed, pressure, brush angles result can be very different.
For sure the same applies on this brush. Settings are everything.

I agree. It needs to be throwing the snow in front of its direction of travel, other wise it'll just be putting the snow back over its tracks.

With that said, I've never seen a broom on the back of a machine. It's always been on the front. They make a tremendous cloud of snow and slush, depending on temperatures. I sure wouldn't want it turning towards the machine at any time.

All airport runway sweepers work that way as do small walk behind sweepers.

On those big sweepers they are operated at about a 45 deg angle so as to fling the snow or debris off to the side otherwise they'd accumulate a massive amount of material or snow.

Was able to make quick test yesterday

At first - guys were right about castor wheels. They are swinging only 180 deg, so no more questions about driving direction. Only forward, thus means rotating only towards tractor. Thus tractor becomes dirty.
But I will figure out a kind of deflector to keep tractor clean. I mean best position will be not near brush but where 3p arms are.


Snow has fallen during rather cold night, but at 1100 was already warm and sunny, under direct sunlight snow has started to melt. So I had different types of snow

1. very wet, almost melted. Goes away nice and smooth. Almost feels like brush instantly melts that snow. Surface remains clean and almost dry. Really nice.

2. Wet but strong. You can make nice snowball out of it.
a. if it is less than 2 cm - brush works very nice, really great result
b. if snow is thicker I got a feeling like I got big bed-sheet is wrapped on broom. Snow just goes round and round and surface remains dirty

3. Dry powder. Same effect as #2, but breaking point is a little bigger. Still, if snow is more than 5 cm, brush is hopeless. It's just messing around

It was not the matter to clean that snow, day was warm and sunny. It was clear that snow will melt within few hours. Blade already is conserved, waiting for next winter.
With that circumstances I was too lazy to attach blade ....

But now I am confident, that blade + broom will be posh combination

Looks like you are strait west of Moscow... I am surprised as it seems you would be in a heavy snow area coming off the ocean..

Looks as the country there is flat as a dinner plate.. If I had a paved drive, parking lot, yard, or such I would like a brush like that.. It would be easy enough to make a dust guard out of old conveyor belt or rubber barn mat type material...

About the only things I can say in German or Russian is to order a beer, say I love you, or start a fight.... But when I was a young guy this seemed enough at the time...
