Thanks Pat I'll keep that in mind.
I wasn't aware that I had to be personally wronged to be bothered by less than honorable behavior.

I believe it's a reference taken from a work of literature (poetry) entitled Wang Dang Sweet Puddintane, by Ted Nugent. But then again I could be wrong....

From the lyrics of a child's reply to What's your name?
Puddintane, ask me again and I'll tell you the same.

I didn't know the origin but there are those who claim to.

Wordwizard Clubhouse - What's your name, Puddintane?

OK I have been joking about this until now. I do believe that if you want to worry about honorable behavior you should quit slandering people I not only believe that is not honorable it is actually actionable in most states.

As I previously posted the poster said that he had a slow dial up and I just cut and pasted that definition in an effort to make it easy for him to find it. I went to your link you provided and read their policy I believe that policy relates to posting in wikipedia. I have not read a copyright notice from wikipedia regarding the use of their material. It is my believe that the nature of wikipedia as being an open forum would make copyrighting information on their site a rather difficult endeavor that would tend to get away from the unique open nature of their website.

Less that honorable intentions would be to post the information from wikipedia and claim it as a post from my own knowledge. I never at any time made any claim to being the author of the information that I posted. I am curious to see if you looked at the article to see If I was the person that posted that information in Wikipedia. I use a screen name on here so I am not sure how you could be sure that I did not post the information on wikipedia that I cut and pasted. If I had sent that information in to Wikipedia I would not have swiped it as you so maliciously accused me of. If I am guilty of anything it is that I forgot I should have added a note that I was posting something from Wikipedia. But since I am kind of a simple person that lives up in the hills of Arkansas I do sometimes forget to complete my paperwork. I would however not accuse someone of swiping something and I would never accuse someone I did not know of being less than honorable. I would not even accuse you of being the SOUTH end of a NORTH moving horse but I do think of you in that manner.

By posting the info under your screen name without stating it was directly taken from another source implies to any reasonable person that you were the author.

In fact I asked if the info was swiped from wikipedia, that was a question, I did not directly accuse you of doing so. In fact you may have been the author of the material on wikipedia which was partly the reason it was formed as a question. You did admit later you took it from wikipedia and did not give credit.

Since we are discussing wikipedia go read their article on plagiarism. Here is a quote from it-

"Plagiarism is the practice of claiming or implying original authorship of (or incorporating material from) someone else's written or creative work, in whole or in part, into one's own without adequate acknowledgement. "

You might also go read wikipedia's definition of slander, which they equate to defamation, since you don't seem to understand what that means either.
Here is another quote from wikipedia for you-

"In law, defamation is the communication of a statement that makes a false claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may harm the reputation of an individual, business, product, group, government or nation. "

Note the use of the key word FALSE.

So are we done here? You took/stole/swiped/pilfered/borrowed wikipedias content and presented it as your own without giving credit then object to someone calling you on it, and then descended into a personal attack, which is prohibited here on TBN.

That about sum it up? :(
