I think that will be his last day on the job. Friend of mine works at UPS. He told me if a driver has an accident or gets stuck they are fired.

Well, I did what I could. It didn't cost the company anything but a little time to get him unstuck, and no damage was done. They offered to fill in the holes, but I told them I would fix it in a couple of minutes with the FEL, and I did. It seems harsh to fire the guy for just one little mishap.

Sorry, Rule # 1 is invoked on this one: No pics - never happened.:confused3:

yeah, I thought about that, after I got back inside the house. I had the phone on my side too.. As they say.... It all happened so fast.

I think that brown drivers have to take an IQ test. If they score to high thy are not hired. I have had my packages delivered to 4 houses and two barns. When I hear about drone delivery I start to wonder if I will have to get to know the wildlife in the area so I can find my packages. Fedx has no problems at all. They all come right to my back door. I keep reading all these UPS horror stories about packages left outside in the rain, at wrong addresses, etc. and wonder what's up. I have never ever had a problem with them (or Fedex for that matter)...always professional drivers. If the weather is bad they'll leave the package somewhere under cover (usually on the porch).
My only "complaint" is that we're at the very end of the route so nothing gets here before late afternoon/early evening, though that applies with Fedex too.

Same here, I have not complaints about their service at all. I have had them walk packages the 1/4 mile up our hill when the road is too icy for them to come down.. They wrap the packages in plastic when it is raining etc.. bunch of good guys around here.

There was a time when I specifically requested "do not send via UPS," for many of the above given reasons. In one instance I had paid for expedited delivery because I was leaving town (and needed the item) yet it arrived late anyways. I left a waterproof box by the door with a note " UPS, please leave package in box." When I got home 2 weeks later my package was still sitting on the doorstep, right next to the box. I have had plant orders left at vacant houses in sub-freezing temps, or gotten phone calls from people I don't know "we have your package..."

They seem to have outgrown that phase though. Now the final delivery is often done using the postal service. Two years ago I had placed an order from Cabelas on Dec 20, expecting it to be shipped after Christmas. Instead, well after dark on Christmas Eve my order arrived. I can't knock that kind of service.

We'll let you slide on the pics thing, but now you're telling us you caused the driver to get stuck because of your heavy packages which unbalanced his truck and caused him to fall into the ditch!
