I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with my browser display. I am using a Dell Latitude laptop with ultra high res screen. For instance, this website takes up only half the screen left to right, but individual columns are too narrow to display the text, so the text folds to the next and some times 2 more lines. On other computers the left column that has the subject when viewing a list of posts in X hours is all on one line.

I have had problems with the text on this screen being so incredibly small that I have played around with text size in "View - Text size". I never could get the desired results, and right now it is set for "medium".

I have similar problems with other websites - they only take up half the screen to the left, then the text won't fit on one line. Some sites have a row of selections across the top of the screen. On mine, the row folds to the next row many times.

I am using Internet Explorer 6, and the only thing I have done is load the Earthlink software that came with its own version of IE6 and a pop-up blocker which works very well.

Anybody have any ideas?

Hold down the "Alt" key and then depress the "space bar". A window will open and will say.... Restore, Move, Size, Minimize, Maximize, or X close. Please don't ask me what all the others do, just move down to the "Move" icon and gently tap "enter". Then using the up, down, right, left arrow keys, move the screen to where you want it. When you are done, then click "enter" and you are finished. If I understand your question correctly, and you understand my instructions correctly, we are both on the same page and everything should work. Thank you for contacting Microsoft Support. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

PS........ forgot to mention...... dump the Earthlink software... the pop up blocker works well, but the rest of it is just terrible. If you like the pop up blocker, you can purchase it for about $20 from the publisher.... and your computer will thank you for getting rid of the Earthlink software.....

I downloaded a pop up blocker shown on a post somewhere on one of the forums here, it works great.

The best part it was free.

Junkman quick I need help! I read your instructions but instead of "gently tapping enter" I hit the enter key really, really hard. A big patriotic window popped up on my monitor, see the attachment. What should I do now? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
