Is this a fairly standard blade bolt? It came off a skid steer brush cutter, I've seen some round shoulder bolts online that look like they might work. Does TSC or a dealer typically stock a part like this?

Thanks! IMG_20200325_180025.jpg

Nice cutter...I would call them and get a few..
Thanks, it's a beast.

I sent them an email, can't find a phone number on their site.IMG_20200325_134738.jpg

I still haven't heard back from JCT so I country noted a fix with some top link bushings and a grade 8 bolt. It works for about 45m and then sheers off. I took the broken bolt to the machine shop to have them.make me a couple of 1 piece bushings that I can drop a bolt through in the hopes that will hold up better. If it doesn't, then I'll pull the stump jumper off and enlarge the hole in it so that I can use a regular rotary cutter blade bolt that I can pick up at TSC.

I think the original bolts sheered because I was running too much hydraulic flow and turning everything too quickly. I've cut that down now and hope that the bushings I'm having made will be a permanent fix. I definitely can't be having to replace a bolt every 45 minutes of cutting.IMG_20200326_164812.jpg

I would change them to the TSC ones and grind a flat on the head then weld a piece of square stock on the disc to keep the bolt from turning.....:2cents:

You're probably right, it's wallowed out the hole in the stump jumper some already so that hole needs to be enlarged regardless. I think I'll drop the blades and the stump jumper off at the machine shop Monday with a couple of blade bolts. I don't have the tools to drill hardened steel without frustration, especially not 5/8 and 7/8 thick hardened steel.IMG_20200328_143254.jpg

I would get 4 at least , You don't want the bolt turning it the hole.... you only need about 1'' of square stock welded on one side and the ends....

I decided to have the blades and stump jumper modified to accept a common brush cutter bolt I could get at TSC. I had the machine shop enlarge both holes and cut a key slot into the stump jumper and use a bolt that had a key in it. I picked it up yesterday and ran it a little, it’s much better this way. The blade swings freely but the bolt is locked into the stump jumper by the key and being torqued down to 300 ft/lbs or so with a lock washer. I think I’ll probably break something else before the bolt fails again.

I never did get any response from the manufacturer (JCT) and I’m seeing a whole lot of their brand new equipment at the Ritchie Bros auctions lately so I’m wondering if they’ve gone out of business. I guess I’m on my own for any repair parts so I’m glad I made the change, even though it was a bit more expensive than I’d have liked.
