Hello everyone I am new to this forum and live in Alvin, TX. I own a BX22 tractor with the front end loader, backhoe, belly mower and a tiller that goes with the tractor. I have many questions on the backhoe BT600 which I seem to not be able to get from the dealer service department. I guess they want it to be a big secret on how to fix things that go wrong and man are they high dollar mechanics. Any how this is my question on the backhoe.

While digging up a tree I heard a load pop. I thought I might have busted a hose but no I didn't see any leaks. Checked the pins to see if maybe I broke one but no they all are fine. Tried to lift the boom and no dice. It wouldn't lift but I still could move the bucket, swing, use the STABILIZER ARMs. I wonder if it could be the control valve. I looked and seen that when I pulled the right lever to boom up the pressure in the hose didn't seem to be as powerful as the others I tried.

Anyone have any ideas or has anyone else had the same problems?

Thanks in advance,
Larry

You may have popped the nut on the piston in the cylinder.

If so, the piston is not on the cyl rod anymore, and fluid is flowing back and forth in the cyl.

Fast way to check is to remove a hose from the cyl and put flow to the end with hose still attached.

If fluid gushes out the open port, then you know.

OR

Push the lever and see if yu can get the relief to activate.

If no relief, you hvae no or not enough pressure.

Thanks for some ideas JJ I will check this out as you have described. Hopefully I can find the answer before I have to take to dealer. I held the hose that controls the boom on the backhoe while moving the lever and it doesn't feel like there is little if not any pressure there. You know how you can feel pressure when it is in a strain. I am thinking that the push rod in the control valve has busted.

Post to an old thread:
Find the two hoses to the Boom Cylinder they will be one above the other on the back of the valves. With the tractor engine off, simply swap those hoses with another set of cylinder hoses, one above the other, and move the Boom hoses to that valve. Make sure they are all attached before starting the tractor. You will be able to test the cylinder using another set of valves.

I wish you had replied back to tell us what exactly was wrong though.
