Plus now there adding ethanol to gas, not sure what effect that might have if any. Hmmm a bubbling plastic gas tank setting right behind the seat. That would make me very uncomfortable too. I have not had the dreaded Vapor lock as of yet. I did notice bubbling in my gas line when I first got it, so I re-routed the hose away from the engine compartment, and it seems to have stopped. I’ll have to keep an eye out on the tank. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Farmall,

Here's a link to a follow-up post on my solution to the fuel line insulation {HERE}

When was the last time that you changed the in-line fuel filter?? If it has been a season or more, I would empirically change out the filter first. NAPA, Advance Auto, etc all carry 'em. I use a 5/16" nipple metal canister filter (Deutsch #FF203), and I replace it at the beginning of each season.

Farmall,
I hope you haven't went out and spent any money on anything yet. If your tank was expanded and you had a gush of vapors release when opening your cap this is definitely a cap/vent issue. Could just be you have some crud blocking the vent hole(s). Take off you cap and you'll find a small hole (maybe more than one) in the inside lip of the cap. Find a small drill bit that will fit the hole and run it through by hand to make sure it's clear. I think Terry told me that PT vented these caps themselves. May want to call him and check.

I think the bubbling was a side effect of the gas being heated under so much pressure. Fix the venting issue first and then keep a watch on your vapor/bubbling issues. Since you've had no problems in the past I'd bet that it goes away with corrected ventilation.

I actually did hear some hissing before removing the cap so maybe it's working OK?? But I will check it anyways. I have not yet replaced the in line filter /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif but I will do so this week-end. Visually it looks OK but it will be replaced anyways, esp since they are so readily available. Thanks!
