buck tooth bucket

Hmm... I like the magnet idea. I got one from Harbor Freight a month ago.... 250 lb lift capability. And, it will do it. I use it to pick up tractor weights and move them around. Comes with threaded hole and eye bolt. Almost impossible to remove from flat metal manually, takes serious side slide effort. Nails jump 6 inches to it.

I'm wondering if this would work on a FEL with toothbar. I've got a hydraulic top link... maybe attached to a 3PT hitch... gotta think about it. I do have used grader blades for material.

Don,

I've seen something similar on a dozer blade. It attaches like a rake, but it angles out just like your bunny thing. The operator drives it to the tree and liftst the blade. The tree comes up with it. Than you backup and lower the blade at the same time to take it off.

One big difference, and maybey I didn't see it, but the inside edges have to be cut at an angle that opens up as it goes down. Imagine a 7 on one side and the mirror image on the other side while looking at it from the front.

You also leave it wide enough at the back so you don't cut the tree off, but that you get a grip on it as you lift it up.

My first thought when I saw it on the backhoe teeth is your gonna bust your nuckles really bad if your lucky and loose an eye if your not. Small trees are the most dangerous thing to take out with a backhoe that I've come across. Just a little preasure at the wrong time and "SMACK" there go your knuckles. Been there, done that and don't look forward to the next time.

Have you considered putting it on your front bucket? Drive up to it, curl the bucket and out it comes. Or at least that's my theory. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good Luck,
Eddie

Eddie the teeth were made to line up with the BH teeth only, but that is a good idea. I would not have to dismount so often.
Mike had a drawing of a similar project for the FEL bucket at the TBN fish fry. Mike If you read this are you progressing on your project?

The BH fun project is on hold for a bit as I prepare for another one of Harvey's project, to be started soon...... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
