Bucket Drift..??

That could have been me: my dealer sold me hydraulic fluid for my 50hr, but luckily I only put 15 minutes on the clock before I had to run back to the dealer for the service manual I ordered. In talking to the service guy, he told me I was given the wrong fluid, but it should have only effected the brakes, and draining it and replacing with proper fluid should have fixed everything. I'm not sure if it has, obviously.

RPW's post is the one with wrong fluid, that I was referring to. Man, I would hope that if the dealer sold u the wrong fluid to put in, that he would make everything right.

Well, When I bought the tractor "new" it had 24 hours on the clock(dealer demo model). It didn't have any leakdown whatsoever until I did the 50 hr. service on it. When there is a noticable difference between one day and the next, it is easy to suspect something is off. While it may still be in spec for the model, it is definitely much more frustrating to use than it was. In addition to leakdown, when dropping the bucket into the ground to backdrag for instance, it will curl back to level without any curl input. It is DEFINITELY different than it was at <49 hours.

there is a big difference in a slow leakdown vs one that 'swings' before your eyes in a second. I was thinking your leakdown was more like watching a boom sag after an hour of the machine being off.

did you put the correct oil in? or did it have a thicker oil in before?

Ok , I love my Massey 1529, about 14 months old,but the bucket wont stay curled full or empty, and the loader arms drift down as well.Is this normal for a tractor? Im in construction so Im used to loader and backhoes with buckets that stay put even under load. At 1700rpm with bucket full of firewood,24"off the ground, fully curled,it takes about 8 minutes to lose 3 " of bucket height and uncurl to the level indicator on the bucket. I notice also driving a distance with a loaded bucket it will slowly uncurl as well. any input? Thanks in advance!!
My GC2400 is over 2 years old, and I have no 'leak down' while the engine is running. Sounds odd to me.

The curl cylinders from my Kubota L4330 are now at the shop for rebuild of whichever one is leaking. The shop guys told me a simple way that I could have determined which one has leaky piston seals:
1) Fully extend the cylinders (piston/rod all the way out)
2) Remove the hydraulic fittings at the gland end of both cylinders
3) Using the joystick/control valve, attempt to extend the cylinders MORE
4) The cylinder(s) with the leaky piston seals will squirt hydraulic fluid out of the open fitting(s)

Might be a little messy, but effective!
