bucket extension

(Hope this works, if it does it shows a bucket extension I made for light material work). Had some scrap 1/4 plate around so I chopped it up and made a bucket extension for my loader. Attaches easily with 4 bolts even though I usually only use the two upper bolts which were already there for the loader brackets. As you can see I can put quite a bit of snow in there. I also use it when moving horse manure, putting hay in the loft, and moving/stacking bulk sawdust we use to bed the horse stalls. Easy welding project if you have any plate steel laying around and a lot cheaper than a whole new bucket.

that's exactly what I've been thinking about having made to load my firewood into my trailer for the ride home from the woods. Is that chain in the last picture attach to the extension as a support? I can't tell from the picture.

Sorry - the chain was just showing my approach to bucket hooks for another post, the pic did double duty. The bucket is held on by two bolts on each side and a few pieces of plate that the bucket lip slips in to. Just fitted everything in place and tacked it in place so everything fits perfectly. The two top bolts really are all thats needed, I just use the bottom bolts because I had the holes for my toothbar but they're overkill.
