Very well put PineRidge. I have some railroad ties that I'm going to use as a border to keep my gravel from going places that I don't want it to go. So I gots to lift and transport with the tractor as lifting and transporting with a 55 year old bad back ain't gonna happen. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I don't know how close you are to the Clinton area but if you would like to visit my place I'll be more than happy to put you on our TC-40D. Five minutes worth of instruction on the use of the joystick to work the grapple and I'll have you moving and stacking trees like you were a pro.

If you have lots of heavy lifting to do you really would get along just great with a bucket grapple. PM me if you would like to give mine a "road test". /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif I would be most happy to oblige you.

I don't know, you'll have to ask him. He only indicated he wanted to pick them up. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Installing a grapple is over kill simply to move some railroad ties. I can see how a grapple can 'pick up a tree' but how can it grab a square railroad tie lieing on the ground, i.e., no need to get out of the driver's seat?

Mike I do admit that the grapple can't be used to precisely place RR ties end to end on the ground to edge a drive. But I do guarantee that the grapple will easily pick them up whether they are round, square, hex or whatever shape to move them to the location much easier than by using your lower back instead.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you ever use one you won't ask that question.

Videos, I need videos! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've use the FEL bucket to carry six (maybe it was 5 or 7, can't remember) 4" x " x 8' fence posts, stacked up on the face of the bucket. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Maybe he just wants to check for worms under them. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
