Bucket keeps falling off

Welcome Rocky! :welcome:

I'm old here and didn't have this problem with my L4330/LA853 until just recently. Guess I need to do some close exam and find out what has changed. Maybe just old springs. I don't think mine has the solid blocks. I maybe remember long ago adding one or two washers above the springs for additional tension, but they have never been "solid" when locked down.

Very seldom will pins lock down solid because different attachments snug up with different amounts of pin extension/engagement. The wedge shape of the pin pulls the implement variably tight [specific to the way the attachment fits the QA carrier] as the lever goes overcenter -- then the lever force relaxes a bit in the locked position. Here, the spring is applying the pin engagement force, but this "park" position should be backed by a hard stop that will not let the pin rise much, and certainly not clear of the implement slots. If the implement applies extreme force the pin friction may be overridden and the pins pushed upward against the spring force until the hard stop. When this movement against the springs is large and happens a whole lot some wear will occur to pins and slots. Particularly, if you dont have the hard stops this wear will finally allow escape at the pin/slot.

Whenever my bucket does not fully lock down...meaning the handle does not EASILY latch down and/or the pins do not properly or fully enter the slotted keeper on the bucket....I have ALWAYS found that the bucket is somehow not fully settled into the upper slots. To resolve, I fully release both manual latches and raise the loader about half or 3/4 and rapidly tilt the bucket back and forth to make sure it is settled fully into the top slots. Sometimes sticks or dirt are in there and need to be removed. Anyway, I always make sure that the two pins are properly inserted into the slots and that the two manual levers are fully latched down.

I seldom back drag, but have never had a problem with the bucket, once it is properly settled in and latched down. I agree, if you cannot get the pins to latch and stay in, a dealer needs to take a look at the problem.

I do a lot of back dragging with my B26 and my LS and never had a bucket come off. My BIL lost one once backdragging but I found that neither side was hooked into the bucket properly. I don't see how the bucket can come off if properly fastened. If it is coming off with the pins fully engaged, then it is for sure fabricated wrong, either in the slots of the bucket or the QA pin itself is not engaging as it should. You should not have to put washers on the top to hold it down.
