I would really like to get away from the regen position as the first function on the bucket dump portion of the loader valve. I see that the B3030 and possibly the B3000 use a loader valve that physically looks like it could fit but not sure if it functions any differently than what I have now. Is there anyone out there that can check their machine's operation for me?

The valve on my B3030 is a Kubot B2315. The first position to the right is what the operator's manual refers to as the 'fast dump' mode. I'm not sure of the terminology but I believe 'fast dump' is the same as 'regen' mode. Pushing the lever further to the right (past the detent) is what they call the 'regular' dump position. So I think my loader valve acts the same as yours.

I was disappointed when I installed a small hydraulic motor for the front snowblower chute rotation using the dump/curl functions to rotate right/left. Rotating the chute to the left works just fine but to rotate to the right I have to bump past the detent for it to move. It's not a problem except that I lose the ability to slowly feather the movement when moving it to the right.

What is your reason for wanting to do so?

Regen dump is first position because the MFG wants that to be the primary dump action....to keep the cylinders full of oil and not air.

If it's because you are wanting a diverter to use curl function for something else....you have 3 options.
1. Deal with using the second position
2. Use the diverter off lift/lower functions.
3. Use a 3rd function instead of diverter.

Some tractors are Regen only and don't even have the normal dump mode past regen

That is the same as mine then - was hoping it was different.. I am using that function on a hydraulic motor as well and have the same problem.

Can't imagine any air getting into a sealed system, always thought it was to increase cylinder speed. My new holland has regen as the second position so it isn't an issue with the hydraulic motor and gives great control/featherability (? Lol)

When you are dumping a heavy load....the weight of the material in the bucket extends the cylinders faster than the hydraulics can pump oil in.

This has become known on this site as "floppy bucket syndrome". As the cylinders are no longer full of oil....if you dump a load and immediately try back dragging to smooth it out....the bucket just flops around.

Regen....by pressurizing BOTH ports....slows this action down and keeps the cylinder full of oil.

But in just about every other hydraulic system design.....the goal IS for speed at a reduction of power. Since you only have to "add" oil to the system to compensate for the volume of the rod....and not the volume of the barrel

It does both. Fluid from the rod end feeds the cylinder end for a faster dump. It also pressurizes both sides of the cylinder. Worn seals can leak air before they begin to leak oil as air is thinner than oil.

Economy Ls are 3 position regen dump only valves. Grand Ls are 4 position valves with regen dump as first but power dump as the 2nd "notch".

Regen & fast dump are different names for the same thing.

I haven't figured out which Kubota models have 3 POS and which are 4.

But to say economy L's are 3 is not right.

The L3400 had 4-position.
My MX (technically an economy tractor) is 3-pos.

No experience with any other Kubota models with regard to loader valve...so that's all I know about what is what

So by the sound of that there aren't any good options for a hydraulic motor on these tractors? I have been looking to find out who makes the valve and see what other options they have but no luck so far. I would try and make my own spool up for the existing valve to see if it's possible to eliminate but not sure my equipment is going to run the tolerances needed for it to work properly.

Plenty of options.

Hook it up to a rear remote.
Put a diverter on the lift circuit.
Put in a true 3rd function.

On most of those options you'd need a crossover relief valve to prevent pressure spikes in the lines when you close the valve.. Especially if you run anything with inertia on it. If haven't put in a crossover relief valve on my 3rd function. But im running a slow speed PHD. The hoses do jump good when I let off the 3rd function.
