I just picked up a tractor a few months ago and I plan to use it to move snow, but was a little concerned about tearing up the gravel area in the parking area off the driveway . I figured I'd make something along the lines of the skids on a snowblower and mount them to the bucket. I first thought about welding something on the side that would be adjustable and removable but decided on something simpler that would slide onto the bucket instead. I figured keeping the cutting edge up a 1/4" should work fine. I guess we'll see once the white stuff starts falling!
Here's what I came up with...
It's 1/4" plate 6" wide by 8" long. I used my press to put the bends in the plate. 7/8" bolt to secure it to the bucket.
