Bucket-to-snow-plow conversion?

I am considering the same thing using a Gravely blade as well. I am wanting to make a 2" reciever to Gravely 4 bolt set up that would allow me to use it on the 3 pt in the reciever for the cultivator.

I saw someones modificaton that installed a 2" reciever bolted to the inside bottom of the loader bucket. If I could rig that, and add the Gravely 2" reciever to 4 bolt set up, I could use the Gravely front blade.

At least those are my intentions.

Simply amazing the talents and vision that so many of the people have on this forum. Congrats on a fine piece of work.

The only drawback I found, was that my blade is not spring loaded, so I have to be extra careful when plowing. I've hit a couple hidden objects, so far no damage. On the other end of the tractor, I have a 54" snow blower. I do most of my work with the blade, and when the windrow gets too big, I hit it with the snow blower.

I think you will find that a 4' blade will be to small for your tractor, My 4110 measures 4' wide, as should your 4010. When you angle the blade , you will not clear a path wider the your tractor.
The JD blade is 54", but most people think 60" would be ideal.

Good luck.

This is what I use for plowing snow.

It uses what I call the JD Quick Attach system with bracket and pin, the strap is not used and it is mounted on a tube frame.

The blade angle is hydraulic from the bucket tilt and the blade is spring loaded.

I have an old 6' plow from a pick-up that I have been saving (for about 20 years) that I have been tempted to add to the FEL but I worry about the side forces involved on the loader frame. I have a 5' TPH blower and a "snow-bucket" extension for the FEL so I don't really need the plough BUT the idea is a cool project-I just don't want to bend the FEL. I do intend to call my dealer about those mounting loops tomorrow though as it takes my a lot of oxy/acet to bend them myself. Pat /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
