Jim stole my prize?:shocked::shocked:

What did I miss out on?

Your prize? You win Second Place Prize!

Fist place was a paid trip to Texas this week.
Second Place Prize was NOT having to go to Texas this week.

(I can say that - I was born there and spent 70 years in that Great State.)

Hey Jim, I appreciate the first prize, but in going back and reading my posts, I think it was somebody else who directed you toward the detent balls, maybe KennyD and J_J. Since I'm already in Texas, I give you my permission to award 1st prize to them.:laughing:

I have a MF compact tractor, when it gets warm, say after an hour or so of bucket use the bucket roll up will not work. Its so hard to push I bent the joystick. Lift up and down and bucket roll down will all work. Works fine as soon as it cools off. Just finished with the hydraulic specialists today, they can find no problem with their tests. So putting it back together now. Hoping your solution will help me.:)

Check the QD's first, then check the balls and springs in the detent at the bottom of the valve.

Maybe the valve is tighten down too much, and the heat might cause some more twist.

Look at the spool as you work the lever, does it have full range? Does it go in and out as much as the other spool?

Update to my post, tried all of the suggestions you guys had posted, with no luck. I talked to a hydraulics mechanic, he told me to bring him the valve and the cylinders. They tested the cylinders and tore down the valve but found no problems.
I put the stuff back on the tractor and tried it out, couldn't run it long enough to get hot because the bucket dump locks up now and also the lift is extremely slow and weak. Swapped up the plumbing just for giggles and the problem changed cylinders as expected.
The new valve cost from the dealer is 1700+. Found a valve at northern tool that should work for 219. I'll put it on in 2 weeks when I return from work and let you know the results.

MF1440V,

Did you reset the 3pt raise lever to neutral. If it is at the fully raised position, you are relieving fluid to tank, and pressurizing the complete hyd system, This might affect valve operation upstream.

Did you take the hoses off all the cyl and see if there was flow to all ports of the cyl?

Is there a gage in the system, and if so , what were the pressure readings when trying to use the FEL?

If the FEL valve and cyl are good, then all you have left is the pump and the 3pt. You should be able to determine if you have flow to the right places, and pressure.

If the FEL valve checked out good, don't see why you are replacing it.

A pressure gage and flow gage would sure help solve your problems.

Last thing, are all the hoses connected correctly?
