I know this is an old thread but the reason the dealer won't install is maybe insurance purposes.Does this extra seat have a seatbelt and will that person sitting in that extra seat survive a rollover?Years ago I had a buddy call me wanting me to come to Georgia to work for the construction company he was working for burying telephone cable.My job title was called "Swamper".My job was to direct my buddy where to dig with a backhoe so we could run new telephone cable's into existing pedestals with existing telephone cable's present and not cut into existing telephone cable.I didn't know this at the time of hire but I was replacing a "Swamper" that had got killed while riding in a buddy seat that had been installed on the fender of a Case 580K backhoe.The backhoe had turned over on hilly terrain and crushed the boy in the buddy seat.When I got to Vidalia, Georgia,the company had purchased 4 Honda trail bikes for the Swampers to ride between pedestals,no more buddy seats for the backhoe's.

There is a seatbelt and the seat is within the "cage" of the cab. That's all I can say. I call it safe enough for my kids to ride with me.
