Started welding tonight. I wanted to wait until I had all the pieces cut before starting to weld, but realized that would be impossible, since I am not strictly following the plans. I needed to weld the first piece on the frame so that I can measure, cut, drill and weld the two brackets that will hold the top and bottom of the boom pivot assembly.
So, here's a couple pictures of the first two pieces going together.
1st one is a side view of the main frame tipped on its side. It is 48" long. The piece I welded on is about 6" long.
