Nice job. Did you gas weld it after you tacked it with the mig?

I mig tacked the flat pieces onto the round pieces at all the points of contact (just 2 or 3 places). After that, I heated up the flat pieces with a rosebud tip until they were red and then hammered them down until they fit flush against the round parts. Then I welded the 2 pieces together with the mig. Only used the oxy/acet for heating purposes.

I have one that was given to me off a 60hp Massey. He just replaced the upper link with a 10' section of "I" beam. The beam has a hole for the pin at the tractor and a chain hook at the other end. There is an "A" frame that toggles from the beam and goes down to bolt onto the 3ph drawbar. Its a very simple design, but far too heavy for my use.....

All the poles are very nice. I have my eye on a $149 one alreay painted nice and red. It is one one of the square tube ones that claims to be good for 2000 pounds. I just do not have the equipment to make one.
