I am in the process of piecing together a 3rd function for my l3200. Ordered from surplus center a d03 solenoid valve and subplate. The valve itself is rated for 10gpm and tractor can only supply 6.5gpm. Looking at the subplate it only has about 1/4" holes. Seems like it will be restrictive right there and slow everything down and I don't need the cycle times to be any slower on the backhoe. Should I return the d03 stuff and bump it to d05 so I have the flow? Fremont industrial supply has the d05. Any advice? Thanks

Get ahold of Brian at fit right attachments he supplies the best 3rd function setup (custom to you)

I am on the same quest for my FEL

Is that S curved operating handle part of the Everything Attachments kit? Is that where they recommend mounting the solenoid? Where I work in the woods a lot that is a location of great vulnerability. Do they have a handle with two switches? I am thinking of a small chain saw FEL mounted for limbing. Needed to position the saw and run the HY motor.

Does he not have a website? Didn't find it when I searched it. I'm going to try the valve I got and see if anything slows or see if I have heat at the valve. I was looking at the backhoe last night and all of the cylinders have 1/4" hoses attached to them so I don't think it's going to slow the operation down and it says for up to 10gpm so I shouldn't have a problem. I ended up getting a John deere joystick I'm going to see how that works out.

What subplate did you order? This one has SAE -06 (3/8") holes: https://www.surpluscenter.com/Hydra...STATION-DO3-SUBPLATE-OPEN-CENTER-9-5883-1.axd

In fact I don't see one with -04 (1/4") holes.

That's the one I ordered. The holes measure 1/4 but it accepts the sae 6 fittings

Good looking, daughter, tractor and placement of your valves. With my stiff neck I need everything in front of me pretty much. the BXs have limited space along the dash area. I am even thinking of replacing the original FEL joy stick with a sectional set of valves for both front and back with solenoids and switches on the handles. Joy stick for the FEL and another for the rear remotes T & T. It is a design in progress.

Thanks Tractor Seabee
I also have T and T, I love it.

Got the valve mounted and plumbed. Just fired the tractor up and ran it full throttle for about 5 minutes. Backhoe speed seems unaffected and I used a temp gun on the P and T ports of the valve I just added with no noticeable difference. Seems my doubt on what the valve could flow seems to be put to rest. I did manage to burn the switches up in my John deere joystick control the night before just cycling the valve several time. Turns out the valve I have needs 3.5 amps to operate and the John deere joystick is only good for 0.1 amps. I just ordered the two push button switches to solder into the circuit board for $14 instead of buying the whole $54 wire harness and switches. The general relays I have laying around pull 0.135 amps and higher to activate them so I had to order some micro relays. It's been a learning experience but it's coming along.

Make sure your kit is rated for continuous flow rather than just intermittent flow. I was surprised to find that my (WRLong) kit wasn't.

I wonder why it's not rated for continuous flow. Solinoid just get hot and not able to handle holding the valve open?

The valve I ended up using is rated for continuous use. I would have never thought to look at that.
