building a chicken coop that can be moved

I was thinking about doing some free range chickens and turkey
but they will not completly free range but more of move the pen
every day. Have tractor to move it with, needs to house maybe
20 turkeys and 30 chickens seperate but different pens.

I think you need another kind of tractor - a chicken tractor.

Here is an idea you may or may not like ... a 6x16 stock trailer older and cheaper ... line it with chicken wire and move it anywhere.

Growing up in the NC mountains I saw lots of folks raise chickens in an abandoned car. My dad always said to be sure to use a 2-door for a coop because a 4-door car would be a chicken-sedan. Either one can be moved.

Those are some big coops to be moving around. Don't know how much space you have. From past experiance you can house both in the same coop. Build it as large as possible, put both in it, with laying boxes and rousts of different spacing & sizes.

Put some birds in it, not too many at first and give them a few days to realize this is their home. After that just open the gate in the AM. Around sun down they will all go home. Close the gate to keep egg & chicken eaters.

Birds, chickens included love green plants & weeds. They will keep you weeds and bugs under control. On top of that you will have some of the best eggs that you ever ate. Bright orange yoke.

I've seen the live together for years with out any problems. If all are healthy at the start, ain't nothing going to happen.

Guys I think the idea is to keep them on the ground so they can eat the grass and bugs and dirt and what not.
